This was a perfect weekend to run a 15K, or two!
Two 15Ks celebrating two pioneers of distance runners in New York.
Arianna, Chantal, Irina, Francesca, and Xu, ran the NYRR Pete McArdle Cross Country 15K in Van Cortland Park in the Bronx on Sunday.
Amina, Paola, Silvia, Valeria, and Xiomara ran the NYRR Ted Corbitt 15K in Central Park on Saturday.
We did not only race this weekend, but we also had our first absolute beginners weekend run on Sunday!
NYRR Pete McArdle Cross Country 15k
With an elevation gain of about 150 feet and many up and downs over 9.3 miles of rugged terrain, the Pete McArdle Cross Country was not an easy one, but our gals were well trained for their first Cross Country race!
Irina Leo crossed the finish line and her friends followed shortly.
NYRR Ted Corbitt 15k
Our other race was on Saturday in Central Park. With a perfect weather for a PR, Silvia did not miss the chance and ran her best 15k. Hurray!
The Ted Corbitt was also our first Club Points Race, we are officially in the rankings now!
Weekend running, absolute beginners 3 miles
We did not only race this weekend. On Sunday morning we went for a relaxed 3 miles run with a group of new runners. Getting out of bed on a chilly December Sunday morning is a piece of cake, when your friends are waiting for you! And this is just the beginning!
