Washington Heights 5K the first Club race of 2020

The NY World Runners don't turn winter races down! Today, at the first NYRR Club Points Race of 2020, we showed up numerous and brave.

The weather was wonderful and the Washington Heights neighborhood showed its beauty for the runners who ran through it from 171st street to the Cloisters and back.

The beauty and the fresh air inspired Chiara, Elena, Emanuele, Jennifer, Ilaria, and Matteo, who ran their 5K PR, despite the hilly course!

We are so proud of our promising young NY World Runners Niccolò and Leonardo who took part in the youth event! Niccolò also ran the regular 5K race with his mom Xiomara, unstoppable!

After the race, we could not miss a lovely breakfast at a local bakery.

As far as the team results are concerned, 231 teams participated. We earned the 46th place in the Women's Open Class category, 19th place in the Women's 50+ Masters, 36th place in the Women's 40+ Masters, and 52nd place in the Men's 40+ Masters. We earned one point in each of these categories.

With one missing male runner in the Man Open Class category, we could not earn any point.
